Commiphora myrrha
An aroma that is resinous, hot, smokey, bitter and slightly camphorous, this oil may be antiseptic, healing and anti-inflammatory. It may be useful for slow-healing wounds, weepy eczema, athlete’s foot, cracked and chapped skin conditions. It can also be effective in treating sore throats, coughs, colds and bronchitis. Myrrh’s effect on the nervous system can be a gently calming one, instilling deep tranquillity of the mind.
Use in the bath, shower, massage, aromaburner, steam and direct inhalations, compresses.
Caution: Do not use during pregnancy.
