An aroma that is sweet and warm, rich and resinous, slightly woody and smokey, this oil may soothe deep tensions. It can be deeply relaxing, grounding and strengthening, making it useful to promote a restful sleep, relax muscles and to nourish and regenerate the skin. It may assist as a hormonal booster, so could be useful for pmt and menopause difficulties as well as anxiety, shock and trauma. An ancient remedy within Ayurveda (the traditional Indian system of healing) this oil can be used to cool and clear heat from the body, as in thirst, heatstroke, fevers and headache. Applied as part of a liniment or compress, it may relieve inflammatory disorders of the joints and skin and may be used for strengthening the body’s reconnective tissue, rheumatoid arthritis, eczema and dry under-nourished skin.
